Over the next week or so, the boards will be rearranged to combine some boards together. It probably won't be happening all at once, but shall keep you up to date here and on the forum.

A new email account has been setup just for Pokémon Australia. It's a simple enough one -> pkmnaus@gmail.com. All future emails that are sent from the site will come from this new address. For those with strong spam protection (blocking all email unless in contacts kinda stuff) then you might want to add this address to your allow list.

Well, as you could probably tell the next event has changed date - funnily enough it's also another Western Australian event! DarkBlastoise is after your help on selecting a new location. Western Australian's, Click here to open the club forum and cast your vote. Remember, DarkBlastoise will need to see a 70% in favour of moving before the club meets will be transfered to the new location. For those interested in going, this is a chance for you to get the ever-rare Pokémon Celebi! Be quick as there's only a limited amount of them. In other news, Pokémon XD currently has an Australian release date of November, well in time for Christmas for those that can't get it on their own. Things are looking up, with many new shadow moves available, and also many more Pokémon catcheable in comparison to Pokémon Colosseum.

I'll update that link (the one just above) as needed while events are planned, and just hide it when there aren't any current ones. You can also keep an eye on the news fader while on the forums to check for pending events.

Hey all, theres been a big change to the monarchy on PKMNAUS! Suddenlaunch now supports multiple admins, so ButtonBasher is now an admin (Pokémon Master) and now has a few more powers he can use, I think he already had full respect from everyone, so thats all good. Viv is now NSW Leader, he isn't here that much anymore and untill we can find a new NSW Leader, it keeps the position filled! Also Latias is now Pokémon Champion! Still need a Leader for Tasmania and South Australia, so if you think you've got the ability to get some meets happening in your area, do it and become Leader of your own part of Australia! Post your comments here!

It's almost time for the QLD Pokémon meet! Check up on the trading post if you've got something you need or to just look over your trades and get them sorted out. The DarkBlastoise Club Western Australian meet is also happening on the 3rd. I think they've pretty much got themselves sorted though.

In a bit more than two weeks away, the Western Australian DarkBlastoise meet and the Queensland meet will be held. Check the events page for details on each event. EON Tickets should be obtainable at both meets for Ruby and Sapphire. For QLD people, you may be able to get yourself Lugia, Mew and Deoxys Dex data, thanks to Jade.

Pokémon XD has been shown at E3 and given a proper name: Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Once again, this new Pokémon GameCube title will make use of a snatch machine, catching various Shadow Pokémon from other trainers that possess them. However, with this starting off at L5, just like the GBA versions (an Eevee to be exact, gives options with evolution), it's set to be a fully-fledged RPG for the GameCube, just as the GBA games are for the portable systems. While details on whether wild Pokémon will be catcheable or not, there's one Pokémon that stands out above all else. Lugia! Instead of just the usual Aura that they get, Lugia has just about turned into another Pokémon altogether, with a vastly different colour, different eyes and even its toes turning into sharp claws. That will be one Pokémon that'll be hard to purify. You can grab videos of the new game over at IGN here.

It's been quite a while since the last news update, hasn't it? Not much to report on Pokémon lately, with no new monsters being revealed just yet. In June sometime is a Pokémon Australia meet for QLD. Come in here to talk about it, and see what details have been arranged so far. DarkBlastoise of WA has arranged the next meeting for his DarkBlastoise GBA Club for the 5th of June.

Did some work on the forums, theres now 4 new sections to enjoy; Pokémon Fanfics, Pokémon Role Play, Original Fanfics and Role Play, hope this fills in that void for you more creative members out there! Time to post up your Fanfics for people to read, or if you are a role playing type, time to create your own original role play, or perhaps one set in the Pokémon world! Have fun!

The results for the poll of Week 11 show that most people are looking foward Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, making an appearance on the Nintendo DS sometime in the future. Light has shone upon the shadow of the new pokémon, the hero of waves, Rukario! Rukario apparently is "a fighting type like blaziken" and has "a deep connection with mew". Sounds interesting indeed!

The DS has been released! Alright, so it was yesterday, but I just never got a chance to put this up. Got mine and loving it! For those not in the know, the DS is Nintendo's new handheld system, featuring wireless multiplayer, touch screen, built in chat, 80m radius for connectivity (depending on conditions), better single card (they call them game cards now...) multiplayer game support, dual screens, stereo speakers, built in mic (and a connector to be used for a headset later...), online support in development, probably more features than what I can remember. Also comes with a demo of Metroid Prime: Hunters. That's mainly a multiplayer game with training missions to complete. The system itself comes at about $194 ($199 RRP) and the games at a nice $60 ($70 RRP).

It's the final day for submitting an afiliate badge today. Not many entries for this one, as not many people like working with pixels I guess. Voting will last for two weeks, starting tomorrow (Sunday). Hopefully a new competition will be up on the 8th of March.

Site colours have had a slight change, now displaying lighter blues for easier reading of the forums. There was a strong display of those in favour of keeping the colours, but brightening them up for easier reading. And so, that's what we've done. Happy posting! In other news, old news is available for reading! Click the 'past items' link at the bottom of this page to access them. It includes all items from way back when the site first begun. Once there's enough, they'll be split up into groups, with a menu to select the period you want to view.

New competition! With the Cute and Ugly comp out of the way, it's time for a badge design to begin. An affiliate badge is a small picture, usually shown on the side of a site on the main page and often on pages within, that's a clickable link to the site that badge represents. On the other site that it links to, they'll have a badge represented the same site from which it came from. Have a look at Serebii or Pokémon Dream to see examples of badges that can be done. As you can see from them, they are confined to either one of two sizes. 88x15px, or 88x31px. Also, they're all in the PNG picture format, rather than .bmp or .jpg, for size and quality reasons. I'm not completely sure about the use of animated gifs, however. Click here to see the topic thread for the comp, and see what entries have already been summitted. Good luck people! It's finally time for the Queensland event to kick off! Hopefully all you QLDers will be coming today. :D Click here for details on the event, click here, and for QLD Celebi and Jirachi info, click here. That should be everything you need to know. Other than the EON Ticket itself! Connect up with ButtonBasher as P1 to get the EON Ticket into your game. After record mixing, you'll have the EON Ticket to use for yourself at Southern Island. Use the Lilycove Ferry service to get there. Hope you all enjoy your day, and good luck with your battles! Hopefully everyone's got their battle teams and trades ready! Another thing to consider, is other games.
